TikToker Emily McPherson was left with what her followers described as a ‘mini mohawk’ after trying to bleach her own roots at home, only for her hair to completely snap off
A woman on TikTok has been left begging for help, after attempting to bleach her hair, only for a huge chunk of it to completely snap off at the root.
Emily McPherson was trying to bleach her dark roots in order to cover it with her signature stunning pink hairstyle when disaster struck.
The 21-year-old took to TikTok to share a clip of her broken hair, while pleading for help, writing: “Girls, can someone help I’ve just bleached my roots and it’s snapped off, wtf.”
Alongside the video, Emily added: “Do I need to shave my hair off? Please help!”
The clip, which has since been viewed more than 2.5 million times, was quickly inundated with comments from followers who could help but make the comparison between Emily’s miniature Mohawk and a parrot. The internet really is a cruel place at times.
One person commented, “since no one said it,” alongside a parrot emoji, to which Emily responded: “I don’t know whether to laugh of cry.”
“Dye it like a strawberry and the fluff is the leaves,” one TikTok user joked, while another added: “It’s mullet time baby girl.”
Meanwhile, other (slight more helpful) TikTokers suggested that she could simply move her parting from the middle to the side of her head in order to hide the little tuft which had formed as a result of the bleach disaster.
In a follow up clip, Emily shared her hair after she’d covered it in a bright orange hair do, writing: “When you’re crying for help because of your hair and your comments section is full of people calling you ‘Angry Bird’ and ‘penguin’.”
